First-quarter 2010, Actual Upstream Oil and Gas Investment Reaches U.S. $ 2.61 Billion

Jakarta - Realization of upstream oil and gas investment in the first quarter-2010 reached U.S. $ 2.61 billion, U.S. $ 60 million higher compared to investment over the same period last year which was U.S. $ 2.55 billion.

The 42nd IPA Convention & Exhibition 2018 will start soon

The IPA is proud to announce that the 42nd IPA Annual Convention & Exhibition will be held at the Jakarta Convention Centre, on 2nd – 4th May 2018.  The theme for this year's Convention is “Driving Indonesia’s Oil & Gas Global Competitiveness” Here are some key activities at the upcoming Convention & Exhibition:
 
OPENING CEREMONY
The President of the Republic of Indonesia has been invited to open the Convention at the Opening Ceremony which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Plenary Hall, on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018. The ceremony is intended to start at 08:45 AM.
 
CEO FORUM
The Forum starts immediately after the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 at 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM, located at Cendrawasih Hall 3.
 
PLENARY SESSIONS & SPECIAL SESSION
Each session has a different theme with speakers from Senior Government Officials, CEO’s of the oil & gas industry, Consultants and Professionals. They will share their views and develop new ideas to work together to secure the country’s future energy needs for the benefit of the people of Indonesia.
 
TECHNOLOGY SESSIONS
In line with IPA Convention theme this year, a new Technology Session program has been created with discussions around the role that technology has in supporting the competitiveness of our industry. Digital technology plays a major role in other industries in increasing efficiency and reducing risks in operations. Similarly, it can also play a crucial role in the oil and gas industry, from reducing exploration risks to the optimization of field operations through myriads of techniques available as part of the digital transformation of the industry.
 
At the same time, government regulations will need to keep up with the increasing pace of new technology development in order to maximize the value of these innovations. These sessions will foster the discussions between technology providers, technology users, and government, with the ultimate goal of driving the competitiveness of Indonesia's oil and gas industry.
 
First Technology Session starts on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 at 12:45 PM – 14:00 PM, located at Assembly Hall.
 
TECHNICAL PROGRAM
Presentations start immediately after lunch on Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 at 1:00 PM, in six parallel rooms located at the Lower Level area of the Jakarta Convention Center.  The total of 199 oral papers will emphasize the achievements and the breakthroughs of the latest development in the industry, which will be delivered in 36 technical sessions and 71 Poster sessions that will be presented at the Lower Lobby hall.
 
EXHIBITION
The Exhibition will be accessible throughout the conference, showcasing the latest industry technology and best practices over a wide range of disciplines and services. It presents more than 100 exhibitors from oil & gas companies, service companies, contractors, government organizations, consultants, professional associations, and media.
 
INDUSTRY COCKTAIL
An informal ambience in the Exhibition area to engage with colleagues from the industry will be held on the first day of the convention, Wednesday, 2nd May, starting at 4:00 PM.

Oil and gas exploration success stories spark promise for Indonesia

The discovery of 2 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas resources in the Kali Berau Deep Field in South Sumatera in early 2019 marked a new era of oil and gas exploration in Indonesia. Prior to it it was almost two decades since the last significant discovery in Indonesia which was the Banyu Urip Field in Cepu Block by ExxonMobil Indonesia. The discovery was also among the ten largest finds worldwide in the period of 2018-2019. The discovery sparks real hope for Indonesia.
